Explain how the elements present on the surface of a star can be identified using bright line spectra
gtnhenbr [62]
Certain elements (gases) have their own specific and unique brighline spectra, so to identify different gases on the surface of a star, all scientists have to do is to look at the brightline spectra that those gases emit and compare to the spectra of the known gases on earth. If the spectra from the gas on the star matches the spectra of the known gas on earth, then there is no problem in identifying the gas.

Underlying rock structure of cape flats
Gekata [30.6K]
The three main rock formations are the late-Precambrian Malmesbury group (sedimentary and metamorphic rock), the Peninsula granite, a huge batholith that was intruded into the Malmesbury Group about 630 million years ago, and the Table Mountain group sandstones that were deposited on the eroded surface of granite and Malmesbury series basement about 450 million years ago. The sand, silt and mud deposits were lithified by pressure and then folded during the Cape Orogeny to form the Cape Fold Belt, which extends along the western and southern coasts. The present landscape is due to prolonged erosion having carved out deep valleys, removing parts of the once continuous Table Mountain Group sandstone cover from the Cape Flats and leaving high residual mountain ridges.[1]

The Earth includes: A. A breaks-rather-than-flows lithosphere, a flows-rather-than-breaks asthenosphere, and a solid inner core.
MrRissso [65]

Answer:

Option A is correct.

Explanation:

The lithosphere is the outer shell of the earth. It is composed of the crust and a portion of the upper mantle. It's broken into pieces that are known as tectonic plates. All solid-core planets possess a lithosphere.

The Asthenosphere is located right below the lithosphere, is highly viscous and even molten at some regions. Both the lithosphere and asthenosphere play crucial roles in the movement of the tectonic plates.

The solid inner core should not be confused with the outer molten core. The solid core is the innermost layer of earth. It is believed to be composed of an iron-nickel alloy with other elements. It has an estimated radius of 1221 km, and its temperature is believed to be of 5700K.
