The role of socialization is to acquaint individuals with the norms of a given social group or society. It prepares individuals to participate in a group by illustrating the expectations of that group. Socialization is very important for children, who begin the process at home with family, and continue it at school.

How would you summarize/describe the experience of immigration? What effect does the process of immigration have on immigrants?
Alexxx [7]

The experience and the effects of immigration can be summarised as below:

Experience:

 • Once the immigrants have immigrated to a new place, it takes time for them to be accepted socially by the original residents of the new place. This process of gaining social acceptance, is often lengthy and mentally disturbing.
 • The culture of the new place does not always suit the immigrants, which makes the latter part of the process of immigration a painful experience.

Effects:

 • The major effect of the process of immigration can be seen on the physical stability of the immigrants. As the atmosphere/weather of the new place is often not easily adaptable, it affects the health of the immigrants.
 • The discrimination that the immigrants have to face before they are socially accepted affects the mentality of the immigrants in a negative manner.
