I had a hard time starting the paper. I did start with the topic of “is college competitive?” As I started to write that paper I stopped and thought how I could get 4-5 pages out of that topic. Then I went and looked online for different topics ideas. That’s when I came across “should cell phones be banned in school.” I thought that the ban on cell phones would be easier to write about than competitive college. With the first topic I did had to look up acceptance rates for different schools. With the cell phone ban I didn’t have to look up any information to put into the paper. The only thing I looked up was about the Deer Creek shooting to just refresh my mind. I did write some paragraphs on a separate piece of paper to get ideas going. When I type things up from my head thoughts are scattered. With writing on separate paper I can get ideas organized. The counterarguments were probably the most difficult to write.
