As the Figures progress, you can see that the salt dissolves. Through Figure (a), the salt is more compact and has not dissolved, therefore, the molecules are close intact. From Figure (b), the water is starting to dissolve the salt. Here, the the salt begins to spread throughout the water which will form salt water. And lastly, through Figure (c), the water has fully dissolved the salt. The salt molecules are all spread and have combined with the $H_{2} O$.
