The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Your question is incomplete. Indeed, you miss the question. Here we just have a sentence. We don't know what you need. You also forgot to include the options for this question.

However, doing some deep research trying to help you, we can answer the following.

It seems that the question is "What is the best way to paraphrase the information in this sentence?

So the correct answer would be the following.

The best way to paraphrase the information in this sentence is "The fifteenth-century invention of the printing press enabled more people to read the news and other information."

When you are editing a text or simply want to improve a sentence or interpret it, you can paraphrase the sentence and make it better.

It could be through a better expression, the use of grammar, improve diction, or make it shorter but stronger.

How are the four functions of language interrelated?
kolezko [41]
The four functions of language: to define, to evaluate, to influence, to reflect. In language we always have a sender, a receiver and an information. The sender sends the information to the receiver in a specific context (a sorounding world) and the information is corelated with the world (it says something about it). The functions of language describes functions of theese elements. Language "defines" because it says something about the world and it shows a connection between the information and the world. Language influence, because every speech we give has its consequences for the receiver so here we have correlation between the information and the receiver. What's more language reflects because it shows the emotions and intentions of the sender (connection between sender and information). And last but not least we have the function "to evaluate". It shows how the information influences itself, how it is built, what kind of language we use and what stylistic values it has.

Decide whether each event happens at the beginning, middle, or end of the story. Then sort the events by dragging
iren [92.7K]

Answer:

Beginning - celery eating, neighbor's buffet

Middle - narrator gets jeans, meat at restaurant

End - Meg slurps a shake

Explanation:

The question above is related to the story entitled "The All-American Slurp," which was written by Lensey Namioka. At the beginning of the story, the Lins' family is seen having a hard time eating the "raw celery" which Mrs. Gleason prepared. In China, they would often boil the celery first before eating. This was followed by the buffet wherein they were invited for dinner. They didn't know that buffet dining would mean eating in the living room and not dragging some chairs towards the food area.

In the middle of the story, the mother finally bought the narrator some jeans because she saw how it was a necessity in America. They also ate at the Lakeview restaurant as a celebration for Mr. Lins' promotion in the company.

At the end of the story, Meg persuaded the narrator that they have some milkshakes, since Dairy Queen was just located down the street. The narrator ended up paying for the shakes since she was the host.

So, this explains the answers.
