Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton organized the first woman's rights conventions at Seneca falls in 1848.
It is through this convention they declared the Declaration of Sentiments; whereby it is stated that "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men and women are created equal.”
