Answer:

The Battle of Shiloh (also known as the Battle of Pittsburgh Landing) was a crucial victory for the Union during the Civil War. On April 7, 1862, the Civil War's Battle of Shiloh ended with a United States (Union) victory over Confederate forces in Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee. At the time the Battle of Shiloh was fought, it was the costliest battle in terms of casualties and deaths in American history. Grant was initially blamed for the Union army not being prepared for the Confederate attack and many people wanted him to be removed from command.
