a scientist heats 30 grams of calcium carbonate (caco3) in the chemical reaction shown. what is the total mass of the products?
masya89 [10]

The question is incomplete, the complete question is;

Use the chemical reaction to answer the question. CaCO3 → CO2 + CaO A scientist heats 30 grams of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in the chemical reaction shown. What is the total mass of the products?

A. 10 grams B. 15 grams C. 30 grams D. 60 grams

When a scientist heats 30 grams of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in the chemical reaction, the total mass of the products is 30 grams.

According to the law of conservation of mass, mass is neither created nor destroyed in a chemical reaction.

The simple interpretation of this law is that the total mass of reactants should necessarily be the same as the total mass of products obtained in the reaction.

We had 30grams of Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) reacting hence we must have a total mass of 30 grams of CaO and CO2 obtained after reaction.

Guys, I am taking the SHSAT and I am not confident I don't think I am smart enough to pass. I study like crazy but nothing stick
Rudiy27

Answer:

Take time for yourself every so often, relax, treat yourself, be confident and don't over study. Studying to much can cause stress and you can become overwhelmed super quick, I tend to do it a lot. You don't need to have the perfect score, but don't just get by. Give it all you have and it will pay off, I promise. Don't ever think not making a perfect score on a test will cause your parents to become upset, trying your best will make them proud. You'll see it when you make that above average score! Everyone is intelligent no matter what; you're a smart and talented individual, don't ever forget that. Hopefully everything goes well and good luckk! :)

The dnsity of aluminum is 2. 70 g/mL. if the mass of a piece of aluminum is 244 grams, what is the volume of the aluminum
joja [24]
27.0 g

Explanation:
The density of a substance tells you the mass of exactly one unit of volume of said substance.
In your case, aluminium is said to have a density of
density Al
=
2.70 g
.
cm
−
3
This tells you that every
1 mL
of aluminium has a mass of
2.70 g
.
All you have to do now is use the density of aluminium as a conversion factor to go from cubic centimenters of aluminium to grams
10.0
cm
3
⋅
2.70 g
1
cm
3
=
27.0 g
−−−−−
The answer is rounded to three sig figs.
