Nationalism is:
Flauer [41]

Answer:

B. Loyalty to a group with whom one shares a  common history, culture, or religion.

Explanation:

Nationalism used in historical sense is defined as having a justifiable support for one own's country (either native or host country), not only it's history, it's beliefs and values, but also it's interests on top of others. All countries have members that are nationalistic, who look after their own country more than the world community (which should be so). In essence, take care of your own house and lawn before you judge other countries (or in the analogy, other houses and lawns).

hram777 [196]

There was a major reasons why The United States wanted to have European influence out of Cuba. One of the reasons was that actually Americans were firmly opposed to colonialism and the Spanish occupation of Cuba was a daily reminder that one of the last remains of the European colonialism. They wanted it removed.

It was not a surprise that when Cuba's independence movements began, Americans enthusiastically support the Cubans. In a nutshell, American antagonism to European colonialism was one of the strongest reasons to support Cuban independence.
