Find the slope of the line passing through the points (-4, 0) and (7, 0). please help!!:)
guapka [62]

The slope of the line passing through the points (-4 , 0) and (7 , 0) is 0 ⇒ 3rd answer

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula of the slope of a line is m=\frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}

where (x_{1},y_{1})  and  (x_{2},y_{2}) are two points on the line

To find the slope

  • Let one of the two points to be (x_{1},y_{1})
  • Let the other point (x_{2},y_{2})
  • Substitute them in the formula of the slope
  • Calculate the value of m

∵ The line passes through points (-4 , 0) and (7 , 0)

∴ x_{1} = -4 and x_{2} = 7

∴ y_{1} = 0 and y_{2} = 0

- Substitute these values in the formula above

∴ m=\frac{0-0}{7--4}=\frac{0}{11}

∴ m = 0

The slope of the line passing through the points (-4 , 0) and (7 , 0) is 0
