Darkness filled the night sky, and electric lights flooded the field with light. The expanse looked like a war zone, littered wi

th broken snowballs and icy debris. In the middle of the field, I spotted a mountain of perfect snowballs. My team's supply was almost gone, so I told Billy that I would retrieve the snowballs in the center.
"No, Joanna," cried Billy, "don't go! It's a trap by Hillside to get you out of the fort!"

I ignored Billy's advice and refused to believe that the mountain of snowballs was a Trojan Horse. I raced towards the middle of the fray. Suddenly, I was bombarded by flying balls of frozen snow. I slipped on a patch of ice. The pile of snowballs were indeed a tricky trap, as they were in the middle of the ice.

My next course of action was to lob as many snowballs back as I could through the covert openings in the fort wall. I damaged the wall of their fort, but it did not fall. Unfortunately, I also damaged our secret windows with the snowballs. Enemy snowballs burst through the openings as quickly as they were thrown. One snowball hurtled through the opening, smashed into my face, and fell into my crossed legs. Tears mixed with the icy water as I cried in pain and shame.

Pride is my Achilles heel. I vowed to destroy Hillside's wall all by myself. I lurched to my feet, slipped on the ice, and fell on my back, destroying our fortress in the process. In the corner of my eye, I saw Tucker and Billy work together to destroy Hillside's fort.

Both forts were destroyed, and no fresh snow remained. We all lay on the ground, staring up at the black blanket of stars. My pride and leadership hadn't saved the field. If I had listened to George, maybe we could have enjoyed the field over a period of days.

I met George in the middle of the field.

"Do you think we could give peace a chance?" George asked.

I looked at Tucker and Billy, who nodded. Our two groups agreed to stop fighting over the snow. I tentatively suggested that we put the two forts together to create one fort. Then, I waited. It was time to start listening.

Select the detail that supports the theme "It's better to be friends than enemies."

The story of an hour, why might it be considered realistic
Finger [1]
If you have to write about this (never read this) but you could be broad with what you say. Use things such as the timeline of the story, the actions the characters do and the emotions they feel. Of these things are possible in real life then of course it's realistic.
