The correct spelling of plurals usually depends on what letter the singular noun ends in. To make regular nouns plural, add ‑s to the end. If the singular noun ends in ‑s, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, or -z, add ‑es to the end to make it plural.

How is Anne’s life in hiding different from her life outside?
Marta_Voda [28]

Answer: She had to be more quiet and careful than usual. The living conditions were different, and the food was different.

Explanation: While in hiding, Anne and the group of others she was hiding with had to be extremely careful and quiet to make sure they did not get caught. If they got caught, as they did later on, they would be sent to work camps where they were tortured and treated unfairly and eventually led to their death. They had to stay in a tiny part of an office so there wasn't as much room as their normal house. The food was also different because there had to be smaller portions in order to feed everyone.
