Why might Great Britain’s colonies have contributed to the start of the Industrial Revolution in Great Britain?

History

Answer:

The colonies provided two things: some raw materials that represented a influx of capital for British entrepreneurs and industrialists to invest, and more importantly, provided one of the many markets that demanded the industrial goods that Britain produced.

On the other hand, the colonies did not provide much direct raw materials since most of the raw materials were available in Britain, mainly coal, which was by far, the main source of fuel. The labor force was also provided by British people, except for a few migrants.

Which of the following best explains why Reconstruction came to an end in 1877?
Y_Kistochka [10]

Answer:

The good answer is:

"Efforts to change southern racial attitudes and culture ultimately failed because of the South's determined resistance and the North's waning resolve."

Explanation:

The Reconstruction period after the Civil War ended in 1877. There were attempts to solve the inequalities of slavery and soften its social, economic and political impact, and to address the complex issues of readmission of the states that had seceded from the Union. Unfortunately, laws to impede the African Americans from fully enjoying their rights were passed and enforced in southern states. Real legal equality of black Americans would only be achieved in the 1960s.
