Answer:

= 3±2sqrt5

Step-by-step explanation:

(x-1)(x-5)=x^2-5x-x+5=16 (foil first outer inner last)

x^2-6x+5=16 move 16 over

x^2-6x-11=0 Using the quadratic formula

= 3±2sqrt5

So we need to put in the area of the rectangle which is 15 so let’s start

x+5+x+1=16

Collect the like terms

2x+5+1=16

Now you add the other numbers

2x+6=16

Now you subtract 6 by both sides

2x+6=16
-6 -6

Now you have left 2x=10 so divide 2 by both sides

Therefore the value of x is x=5

The probability that you will guess the first answer correctly  =  1/2  =  0.5
The probability that you will guess the second answer correctly  =  1/2  =  0.5
The probability that you will guess the third answer correctly  =  1/2  =  0.5

The probability that you will guess all three answers correctly is

                (0.5) x (0.5) x (0.5)  =  0.125  =  12.5% .

Statistically, if your answers are all pure guesses,
then on the average, the score you expect is

      (0 + 33-1/3 + 33-1/3 + 33-1/3 + 66-2/3 + 66-2/3 + 66-2/3 + 100) / 8

   =                  400 / 8

   =                      50%  .

If you're happy with that score, great !

a rectangular prism has a volume of 144 cm3. the base is a square with a length of 4 cm. what is the height of the prism
frutty [35]

Answer:

9 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The volume is given by the formula ...

V = LWH

Filling in the given numbers, you have ...

144 cm^3 = (4 cm)(4 cm)H

H = (144 cm^3)/(16 cm^2) = 9 cm

The height of the prism is 9 cm.
