Answer:

D) doubles the rate

Explanation:

The given reaction is :

$CH_3Br + OH^- \rightarrow CH_3OH+Br^-$

For the SN^2 reaction, the rate of reaction depends upon the concentration of both the $\text{alkyl halide}$ as well as the \text{nucleophile.}

That is the rate = $k[CH_3Br][OH^-]$

Now if the $[CH_3Br]$ becomes $2[CH_3Br]$, then the rate becomes double.

So the rate' is :

= $2k[CH_3Br][OH^-]$

= 2 x rate

Therefore, the answer is (D) doubles the rate.

How is a gas's ability to fill a container different from that of a liquid or a solid?
svp [43]
Well a solid and a liquid is completely different from a gas. For a gas you need to have an air tight seal in order for the gas to stay in, or a special type of container so the gas doesn't decompose the container. And a liquid or a solid it's self explanatory. With some liquids you need special containers to hold the liquid so it doesn't decompose the container it's in.

What is the formula of this<br> inorganic salt hydrate?
barxatty [35]

Salt hydrates are an important class of PCMs. An inorganic salt hydrate (hydrated salt or hydrate) is an ionic compound in which the ions attract a number of water molecules, which are then trapped inside the crystal lattice. A hydrated salt has the generic formula MxNy. nH2O.
