Prompt: It's graduation day. What words of wisdom do you have for your younger self?

Answer:

Hi younger me, you have a long journey ahead of you. People will come and go from your life and that is ok. You can get through it. Life will make you stronger, but you are already stronger than you know. Do us both a favor and be you. Be truly and undeniably you. Don't worry about relationships, at least not the romantic kind. We both know you're not ready for that yet. Instead, focus on your grades. But don't stress too much over the future, you'll miss the present. That's not to say you should stop researching schools or working toward your dreams, just make sure you know what your priorities are. I know it's so hard not to get distracted with life, but keep working hard and enjoy every second of the journey. I know we used to say that middle is just character development, but so is High school. High school is discovery. Good luck, you'll do great.

Which of the following is not an example of situational irony?
maxonik [38]

Answer:

D. A teacher running right into a door and falling on her face

Explanation:

Situational irony is a situation, outcome or an action that happens although that was unexpected from the known facts or premises.

It is completely unexpected for an experienced Olympic diver to make such a beginner's mistake and do the belly flop.

We could say the same for an 80- year old lady to be familiar with modern technologies, let alone use them and be a part of it.

Also, a ridiculously short man winning a high-jump competition is a rather unexpected outcome.

However, a teacher running right into a door and falling is simply a painful accident, because teachers aren't in any way less prone to accidents nor it is expected of them to never accidentally injure themselves.

What is twain's claim in the lowest animal?
Oksana_A [137]
I have been scientifically studying the traits and dispositions of the "lower animals" (so-called), and contrasting them with the traits and dispositions of man. I find the result humiliating to me. For it obliges me to renounce my allegiance to the Darwiniantheory of the Ascent of Man from the Lower Animals; since it now seems plain to me that the theory ought to be vacated in favor of a new and truer one, this new and truer one to be named the Descent of Man from the Higher Animals.

The author states that Irving's is his "most compelling educational tool." Do you agree?
umka21 [38]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

You did not provide any reference to answer this question. We do not know the text, the excerpt, the name of the book or article, neither the name of the author. Without that information is difficult to know what you are talking about,

However, trying to help you and doing some deep research, we can comment on the following.

You are referring to the lecture "Barrington Irving; Pilot and Educator," an article from National Geographic.

I agree with the author because the life of Irving is an example of perseverance and determination. Irving is a pilot. But his childhood was a tough one. He was raised in the tough neighborhoods of downtown Miami, Florida.

At 28, he had graduated with honors and built his own plane prototype.

So he is a true example of overcoming obstacles in life and has the authority to give recommendations to students. His main message: "if you are determined and have clear goals, nothing can stop you."

Jamey did a lot of research on his paper topic but can't figure out where to start writing. He has a loose plan in mind, but it'
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]
Jamey should write an outline first to plan his paper.

The first step of writing a good paper is to make an outline to organize your ideas.
He should not write down all of his research and organize it because it is unnessecary to rewrite all of his research and unimportant to organize the research. It is most important to write an outline and this is what English teachers are looking for you to understand.
