The answer is A. He was a French philosopher and was a huge figure in the Enlightenment period. His teachings were used as a point of reference during the French Revolution. Some of his award-winning treatises are A Discourse on the Sciences and Arts in 1750. Other famous works are The Discourse on the Origin of Inequality and The Social Contract. His works were also significant in influencing Immanuel Kant’s treatises on ethics.
