The correct answer is twice.
The graph of the function forms an upside down “u” and because there are two ends to the function it will intersect the x-axis once on each end

Quinn leaves her house at 10:00 am and runs 3 miles at a steady pace of 6 miles per
bogdanovich [222]

Using the relation between velocity, distance and time, it is found that Quinn returns home at 1 pm.

Velocity is <u>distance divided by time</u>, that is:

v = \frac{d}{t}

  • She walked <u>3 miles</u> at a velocity of <u>6 miles per hour</u>, thus d = 3, v = 6. The time is:

v = \frac{d}{t}

t = \frac{d}{v} = \frac{3}{6} = 0.5

  • Thus, she arrived at 10:30 am, and took a lunch break of 1 hour, so she started to return at 11:30 am.
  • Distance of <u>3 miles,</u> velocity of <u>2 miles per hour,</u> thus d = 3, v = 2. The time she took to return, in hours, is:

t = \frac{d}{v} = \frac{3}{2} = 1.5

1.5 hours after 11:30 am is 1 pm, thus, Quinn returns home at 1 pm.

Help, please!! What is x?? x/2+3/8=1
svetlana [45]

Answer:

8(x/2) + 8(3/8) = 1(8)

8(x/2)..the two cancels out and you are left with 4x

8(3/8)..the 8 cancels and leaves with 3

1(8)=8

4x+3=8

Subtract the 3 from both sides to get the x term alone

4x=5

Divide both sides by x to get alone

x=5/4

A random number generator is set to generate integer random numbers between 1 and 10 inclusive following a uniform distribution.
julsineya [31]

Answer:

1/10 or 10%.

Step-by-step explanation:

If the generator includes the numbers 1 and 10 then there are a total number of 10 possible number outcomes that the number generator can generate. Out of all of these outcomes, only one of those would be generating a 7. Therefore, the probability of the generator generating a 7 would be 1/10 or 10%. This is assuming that it only generates 1 number.

Use a scientific calculator to evaluate log 32.5 (round to the nearest hundredth).
sergij07 [2.7K]
The log 32.5 amount is 1.51. The logarithm operation is an inverse operation of an exponential operation which is done to find the reversed amount of the exponential operation result. The based amount used in a basic logarithm operation is 10, therefore this problem also can be written as 10 log 32.5 which is to find the exponential amount of 10 that results in 32.5<span>.</span>
