Triangle PQR has an area of 12 ft2. If it is dilated by a scale factor of 3, what will be the area of triangle P’Q’R’?
Alex787 [66]

Original area = 12 = \frac{1}{2} * b *h

New Area = \frac{1}{2}* 3b *3h = 9 * (\frac{1}{2} *b *h) = 9 * 12 = 108 ft^{2}

Hope it helped!
