Answer:

Area = 52\sqrt3 \ ft^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of trapezoid

                         (\frac{a+ b}{2}) \times h      -----------( 1 )

We will split the trapezoid into Triangle and rectangle. To find the height and full length of base.

sin 60 = \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse}   [ opposite \  in  \ the \ equation \ \ is \ the \ height \ of \ the \ trapezoid  ]

\frac{\sqrt3}{2} = \frac{opposite }{ 8}\\\\\frac{\sqrt3}{2} \times 8 = opposite\\\\4\sqrt3 = opposite

Therefore, h = 4√3 ft

cos 60 = \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}    adjacent \ in \ the\ equation \ is \ the\ base \ of \ the \ triangle ]

\frac{1}{2} = \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}\\\\\frac{1}{2} \times 8 = adjacent\\\\4 = adjacent

Therefore, a = 11 feet, b = 11 + 4 = 15 feet

Substitute the values in the Area equation :

                                                Area = \frac{11 + 15}{2} \times 4 \sqrt3 = \frac{26}{2} \times 4\sqrt3 = 13 \times 4\sqrt3=52\sqrt3 \ ft^2

What equation best models this data? (Use y to represent the population in millions, and t to represent the year, assuming that
lapo4ka [179]

Answer:

y = 2.31x + 309.35

Step-by-step explanation:

Whenever you are checking for a best fitting equation you want to check if it has a constant slope.  If it does then the relation is linear and super easy.

So, since the t values are increasing by the same amount you want to see if the y values are  too.  And they are, each population entry is increasing by 2.31, this is the slope.

Also, keep in mind you can caluclate slope with the equation \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}  here x is replaced by t though.

Now, since we know it's linear and we know the slope we can find the equation with the formula  y - y1 = m(x - x1) where again, x is replaced by t and m is the slope 2.31

I am just going to use the first point.  so x1 = t1 = 0

y - 309.35 = 2.31(x-0)

y = 2.31x + 309.35

Money adding how to do it
Vilka [71]
Basically if you know your addition just add the values of each coin or dollar bill. Just forget about the $ sign or cent sign when adding the values together.
FOR EXAMPLE:
$1 and $2.75
You would ignore dollar sign and add together like normal to get
3.75
But remember to add dollar sign back at the end.
If the value only have 2 values with cents it should be something like
0.54 cents BUT NO DOLLAR SIGN
Hope that helps
