Answer: The value of k is 2.

Explanation:

From the figure it is noticed that the triangle LMN, LON and MNO are right angle triangle.

According to the pythagoras theorem,

(hypotenuse)^2=(base)^2+(perpendicular)^2

Use pythagoras theorem in triangle LON.

(LN)^2=(ON)^2+(LO)^2

m^2=(4)^2+(8)^2

m^2=80

Use pythagoras theorem in triangle MON.

(MN)^2=(MO)^2+(NO)^2

l^2=k^2+(4)^2

l^2=k^2+16        ...... (1)

Use pythagoras theorem in triangle LMN.

(LM)^2=(MN)^2+(LN)^2

(8+k)^2=l^2+m^2

(8+k)^2=l^2+80

(8+k)^2-80=l^2    .... (2)

From equation (1) and (2), we get

k^2+16=(8+k)^2-80

k^2+16=k^2+16k+64-80

16=16k-16

32=16k

k=2

Therefore the value of k is 2.

The radius of the sphere is 10 units. What is the approximate volume of the sphere? Use and round to the nearest whole cubic uni
erica [24]

Answer:

The approximate volume of the sphere= 4187 cubic units

Step-by-step explanation:

Points to remember

Volume of sphere = (4/3)πr³

Where 'r' radius of sphere

To find the volume of sphere

It is given that the radius of the sphere is 10 units. ,

Here radius r = 10 units

Volume =  (4/3)πr³

=  (4/3) * 3.14 * 10³

=  (4/3) * 3140

=  4186.666 ≈  4187  cubic units

Express 5.03 as a fraction.
algol [13]

503 / 100

Convert the mixed number 5 3 100 into an improper fraction first by multiplying the denominator ( 100 ) by the whole number part ( 5 ) and add the numerator ( 3 ) to get the new numerator. Place the new numerator ( 503 ) over the old denominator ( 100 ) . 503 /100 .

A-B equals, if A =5x^2-4x-11 and B=-x^2+3x-5
Serga [27]

Answer:

A-B = 6x^2-7x-6

Step-by-step explanation:

A = 5x^2-4x-11

B = x^2+3x-5

A-B = (5x^2-4x-11) - (-x^2+3x-5) = 5x^2-4x-11+x^2-3x+5 = 6x^2-7x-6

In a triangle ABC if angle a = 60 °,angle
b= 60° then find c
Mkey [24]

c = 60

Step-by-step explanation:

A triangle is a figure that has sum of all angles equals to 180

i.e ,

Angle A + Angle B + Angle C = 180

60 degree + 60 degree + Angle C = 180

Angle C = 180 - 60 - 60

Angle C = 60
