How did the Cherokee try to stop Americans from taking their land?
sergij07 [2.7K]

Answer:

With the growing threat of being relocated, they adopted the "white man" ways. Several ways they did this was by building houses, making an alphabet, building schools and churches, and making a Constituition (based off the Constitution of the US). Ultimately, it all went in vain; they got relocated anyways because President Andrew Jackson pass the Indian Removal Act.

torisob [31]

Answer:

Explanation:

I tend to side with those who think civil liberties are extremely important; they are almost written in stone. They were put in the constitution to protect citizens from governments misusing their power. The government is so much more power than any one person and perhaps any one group. Moreover, they make the laws. The Bill of Rights (the first 10 amendments) are meant to make sure citizens at least have the opportunity to exercise those rights.

However there are times when the rights go a little to far. Numerous times since 1968, introduced various proposals that attempted to protect the rights of the American Flag. On those occasions either congress or the Supreme Court protected the individual by saying burning the flag comes under the First Amendment -- freedom of expression.

My own opinion is that many people have died defending the flag. I don't know that free speech is more powerful than the right to burn a sacred symbol. I think there are limits to free speech.

ELEN [110]

The excerpt reflects the viewpoint of Federalists.

The above appreciations can be found in Alexander Hamilton text "The utility of the union as a safeguard against domestic faction and insurrection." In it, the idea of the Confederate Republic defined by Hamilton as an assemblage of societies is characterized. It defines the extension up to which democracy should operate.

Thus, the ideas in the excerpt are also, some of the ones that constitute what Hamilton referred to as the science of politics and representation, which contained elements that categorized an innovative government as the US is.
