We will have to simplify both sides of the equation first...

4(1 + 5x) = -6x -14 +8
(4)(1) + (4)(5x) = -6x -14 + 8 (Distribute)
4 + 20x = -6x + -14 +8
20x + 4 = (-6x) + (-14+ 8) Combine like terms
20x + 4 = -6x + -6
20x + 4 = -6x - 6

Now, we will add 6x to both sides...

20x + 4 + 6x = -6x -6 + 6x
26x + 4 = -6

Then, we subtract 4 from both sides...

26x + 4 - 4 = -6 - 4
26x = -10

Lastly, we divide both sides by 26....

26x = -10
-----    -----
26       26

Your answer will be.....

X= -5/13

4(1 + 5n) = -6n - 14 + 8

4(1 + 5n) = -6n -6

4 + 20n = -6n - 6

10 + 26n = 0

26n = -10

n = -10/26 = -5/13.

I believe this would be the solution to the question.

I need to know how to find a rational number halfway in between 7/8 and 3/7
luda_lava [24]
Check the picture below

hmmm so, notice the arrows, if we simply multiply top and bottom of one fraction by the other's denominator, we end up with two fractions, with the same denominator

now, what can be between 49/56 and 24/56

well, 25/56, or 26/56 or 48/56 or 39/56 and so on

once the denominators are the same, is just a matter of which numerator is larger or smaller, to see who is who

If 2 liters of sea water contain 70 grams of salt, how much salt is in 32 liters of sea water?
OLga [1]

Answer:

1120 grams

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount of sea water is directly proportional to the amount of salt in the water.

Let the amount of sea water be W and the amount of salt be S.

This means that:

W α S

=> W = kS

where k = constant of proportionality

2 liters of sea water contain 70 grams of salt Therefore:

2 = k * 70

k = 2 / 70 = 1/35

Therefore, for 32 liters of sea water:

32 = 1/35 * S

S = 35 * 32

S = 1120 grams

There are 1120 grams of salt in 32 liters of water.

5x + 19.95 = 35 <br> Solve x
solniwko [45]

Answer:

Answer is x=3+0.05/5

Step-by-step explanation:

5x+19.95=35

We move all terms to the left:

5x+19.95-(35)=0

We add all the numbers together, and all the variables

5x-15.05=0

We move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right

5x=15.05

x=15.05/5

x=3+0.05/5

I hope it's helpful!!
