We will have to simplify both sides of the equation first...

4(1 + 5x) = -6x -14 +8
(4)(1) + (4)(5x) = -6x -14 + 8 (Distribute)
4 + 20x = -6x + -14 +8
20x + 4 = (-6x) + (-14+ 8) Combine like terms
20x + 4 = -6x + -6
20x + 4 = -6x - 6

Now, we will add 6x to both sides...

20x + 4 + 6x = -6x -6 + 6x
26x + 4 = -6

Then, we subtract 4 from both sides...

26x + 4 - 4 = -6 - 4
26x = -10

Lastly, we divide both sides by 26....

26x = -10
-----    -----
26       26

Your answer will be.....

X= -5/13

4(1 + 5n) = -6n - 14 + 8

4(1 + 5n) = -6n -6

4 + 20n = -6n - 6

10 + 26n = 0

26n = -10

n = -10/26 = -5/13.

I believe this would be the solution to the question.

Claire is painting some doors that are all the same size. She used 2 liters of paint to cobe 1 3/5 doors. How many liters of pai
Deffense [45]

Answer:

1 \dfrac{1}{4} \ liters

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Claire uses 2 liters of paint to cover 1 3/5 doors

Then in order for her to paint 1 door, She will need:

2 L = 1 3/5 door

x L = 1 door

x (L) = \dfrac{2 L \times 1 door }{ 1 \dfrac{3}{5}   \ door}

x (L) = \dfrac{2 L  }{ 1 \dfrac{3}{5}  }

x (L) = \dfrac{2 L  }{  \dfrac{8}{5}  }

x (L) = \dfrac{2 L\times 5  }{  8  }

x (L) = \dfrac{10 \ L }{  8  }

x(L) =1 \dfrac{1}{4} \  L

What is the range of the function<br> f(x) = (x - 1)? when the domain is {-5, 0,5}?
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

f(x) = (x - 1)2

f(x) = 2x - 2

let x = -5, f(x) = -12

let x = 0, f(x) = -2

let x = 5, f(x) = 8

range is {-12, -2, 8}

Please help me with this please and thank you
Alina [70]

Step-by-step explanation:

y = ax^n + bx^(n-1) ... + z

(0, 1) tells us that the constant term z = 1.

because x = 0 eliminates all other terms. and as the sum is 1, that means z = 1.

for the other pairs I strongly suspect

(-1, 3) : 2×(-1)² + 1 = 2×1 + 1 = 3

(-2, 9) : 2×(-2)² + 1 = 2×4 + 1 = 9

so, the fitting equation is

y = 2x² + 1

Solve the system using elimination.<br> 2x + 18y = -9<br> 4x + 18y = -27
Elan Coil [88]

First, let's cancel out the x by multiplying 2x + 18y = -9 by -2.

-2 ( 2x + 18y = -9) = -4x -36y = 18

Then, we combine the two equations.

-4x + 4x = 0

18y - 36y = -18y

-27 + 18 = -9

Our new equation is -18y = -9.

Now, divide both sides by -18.

-18y / -18 = y

-9/ -18 = 1/2

y = 1/2

We can plug in a value for y since y = 1/2 now.

Let's use 2x + 18y = -9

Plug in y.

2x + 18(1/2) = -9

2x + 9 = -9

Then, subtract 9 from both sides.

2x = -18

Divide by 2.

2x/2 = x

-18/2 = -9

x = -9

Lastly, we can plug in both x and y values to see it works.

2(-9) + 18(1/2) = -9

-18 + 9 = -9

Therefore, the values of x and y does work.

x = -9

y = 1/2
