The Great Gatsby Chapter 5: What does this quote mean?

English

Elan Coil [88]2 years ago

Looks like a dry conversation. But! The defunct mantelpiece clock symbolically represents Gatsby's delusional perception of time and his desire to prevent time from moving forward. Although it has been five years since the last time he saw Daisy, Gatsby genuinely believes that he can ignore the present and return to the moment he met Daisy in Louisville. ^w^

You are working on a research project about sinkholes in Florida. Which website would be the best choice for reliable facts abou
ryzh [129]

Answer:

www-usgs-gov/edu/sinkholes

Explanation:

A reliable source is an information or service source that is unbiased, trustworthy and credible. Also, a reliable source typically has pedigree and a track record of excellence service to consumers or end users.

In order to validate a reliable source, it is necessary that the information provided is checked against other credible sources to verify its accuracy.

Generally, when you're sceptical about an information source, you should consider the following elements;

1. Currency: the timeliness of the information. You should determine whether or not it's current i.e check when it was published, posted or updated.

2. Accuracy : the reliability and truthfulness of the information. You should determine if the information is neutral, factual and unbiased.

3. Purpose: the reason the information exists. You should consider what the intentions of the author (writer) are, is it to educate, inform, persuade, indulge or entertain?

4. Relevance: the importance of the information for your need. You should determine if the information addresses your questions or is related to your research.

5. Authority : the source of the information. You should find out who or what the information source is e.g is the author licensed or certified?

In this scenario, you are working on a research project about sinkholes in Florida. Thus, the website which would be the best choice for reliable facts about recent sinkhole activity is www-usgs-gov/edu/sinkholes.
