Answer:

The correct answer is B) 15-30 degrees north and south of the equator.

Explanation:

The planet's hottest deserts are situated mostly within the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn.

Geographically, a desert is a dry landscape without precipitation or water thus making it a challenging place for plants and animals to thrive except for those that have evolved to survive with little or no water. Because plants are very sparse in these regions, the soil also is exposed to the harsh weather conditions that wear away the earth's surface such as moving water, flowing ice, etc.  Deserts (which may be arid or semi-arid depending on the extent of foliage and precipitation available in such a region) account for about 33% of the planet earth's surface.

Arid deserts which are the hottest kinds of deserts are found mostly in the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. The air in these regions is subsiding or sinking air.

Examples of the hottest deserts are:

  1. The Arabian Desert;
  2. The Great Victorian Desert; and
  3. The Kalahari Desert.

The car was purchased for $18,000 the card decreases 20% each year write a function that describes the value of the car after X
katen-ka-za [31]
Answer: f(x) = 18000(0.80^x)

Explanation:
The initial value is 18,000 because that is the value of the car when it was purchased. The equation can be derived by plugging these values into the formula for exponential growth: f(x) = a(1 + r)^x. This gives us f(x) = 18000(1 - 0.20)^x or f(x) = 18000(0.80^x).
