Answer:  The father tells Rashad a story from his time being a cop. One day he saw a black and white boy fighting. Rashad father David grabs one of the kids whose name is Darnell who attempts to run away while yelling that he didnt do anything wrong. The boy Darnell reaches into his backpack and in fear David shoots Darnell.  It was then said that Darnell was the one being robbed and he only reached into his backpack to get his inhaler because he had asthma. Fortunatlry, Darnell did not die but he was paralyze from the waist down. Rashad was surprised to hear this because they did not tell him alot lof heoric acts from his father.
