Answer:

Kinda difficult without the text in question, but let me take a gander at it.

Explanation:

For the first one, assuming that there is a chronological structure, your answer is A. If the structure is compare and contrast, your answer is D. Again, those make the most sense to me, you will have to take it with a grain of salt, since i dont have the text. Just FYI, so you can try to figure it out, chronological structure means the text moves forward in time, like a book, beginning at, say, 1904 and ending in 1937. Compare and contrast is when the paragraphs are dedicated to the differences and similarities of different aspects of the topic. One paragraph might detail the differences in alligators and crocodiles mouths, but similiarities in their tails. Following those examples, try and determine which structure is used, and then figure out whether they are talking about discovery of penicillin or the deadly infections.

Question 2:

Looking at the options, if you have a chronological text, your answer would be B, because the first paragraph would introduce the text and detail the horrors of a pre-penicillin world. If it is compare and contrast, it could be A or D, but looking at the text you could probably figure it out.

Thats my best guess, if you could drop the the text into the comments, I could give you some definite answers.

IrinaK [193]

He did not have long to wait. On March 12, having given the Viceroy an extra day, Gandhi and seventy-eight others left his ashram and began to walk the two hundred miles to the seacoast. There, he declared, he would take a pinch of salt from the Indian Ocean, thus violating the laws of the Empire, which declared that only the British could harvest salt.
