The French Revolution is the name given to the revolutionary cycle that took place in France between 1789 and 1799 that marked the end of absolutism in that country. What became known as the American Revolution was initiated by colonial dissatisfaction with increased colonial exploitation in the Thirteen Colonies of North America. The American Revolution is also known as United States Independence and was declared on July 4, 1776.
The both sides of the Atlantic are America and Europe. In America there was the American Revolution in the US at the end of the 18th century. There were also similar revolutions in Latin American Countries in the 19th century, but they're usually called "war of Independence", not revolution.
