Why was the concept of Manifest Destiny so influential in nineteenth century America?
guapka [62]

United States believing that it’s their right and duty to spread across the North America continent is what we call the Manifest Destiny. This concept was so influential in the nineteenth century in America because this is the idea which states that it is their God- given right to conquer the lands in the West. It is because of this Manifest Destiny that great happenings in the History of the world took event. Fuel western settlement, Native American removal, and war with Mexico were pushed by this attitude. America was able to do this through treaties, settlements and war. In an article on the annexation of Texas which was published in the July- August 1845 edition of the United States Magazine and Democratic Review, John L. Which conclusion can you draw from this excerpt about women’s contributions to the Progressive Movement?
Gnoma [55]

The excerpt shows that C. Women were committed to reforming society.

You did not include the excerpt in question but this is the most likely answer.

The Progressive Era in the United States spanned from the late 1800s to the early 1900s and called for:

 • More morality
 • Efficiency in government
 • Better economic policy
 • Social reforms and welfare

Women were at the forefront of this movement and supported several causes during this time such as the prohibition of alcohol and the right of women to vote.

We can therefore conclude that women were very much committed to reforming society and were it not for their support, a lot of reforms would not have been passed.
