Can you help me with some steps to approach this proof .

To prove two sets are equal, you have to show they are both subsets of one another.

• <em>X</em> ∩ (⋃ ) = ⋃ {<em>X</em> ∩ <em>S</em> | <em>S</em> ∈ }

Let <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em> ∩ (⋃ ). Then <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em> and <em>x</em> ∈ ⋃ . The latter means that <em>x</em> ∈ <em>S</em> for an arbitrary set <em>S</em> ∈ . So <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em> and <em>x</em> ∈ <em>S</em>, meaning <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em> ∩ <em>S</em>. That is enough to say that <em>x</em> ∈ ⋃ {<em>X</em> ∩ <em>S</em> | <em>S</em> ∈ }. So <em>X</em> ∩ (⋃ ) ⊆ ⋃ {<em>X</em> ∩ <em>S</em> | <em>S</em> ∈ }.

For the other direction, the proof is essentially the reverse. Let <em>x</em> ∈ ⋃ {<em>X</em> ∩ <em>S</em> | <em>S</em> ∈ }. Then <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em> ∩ <em>S</em> for some <em>S</em> ∈ , so that <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em> and <em>x</em> ∈ <em>S</em>. Because <em>x</em> ∈ <em>S</em> and <em>S</em> ∈ , we have that <em>x</em> ∈ ⋃ , and so <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em> ∩ (⋃ ). So ⋃ {<em>X</em> ∩ <em>S</em> | <em>S</em> ∈ } ⊆ <em>X</em> ∩ (⋃ ).

• <em>X</em> ∪ (⋂ ) = ⋂ {<em>X</em> ∪ <em>S</em> | <em>S</em> ∈ }

Let <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em> ∪ (⋂ ). Then <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em> or <em>x</em> ∈ ⋂ . If <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em>, we're done because that would guarantee <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em> ∪ <em>S</em> for any set <em>S</em>, and hence <em>x</em> would belong to the intersection. If <em>x</em> ∈ ⋂ , then <em>x</em> ∈ <em>S</em> for all <em>S</em> ∈ , so that <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em> ∪ <em>S</em> for all <em>S</em>, and hence <em>x</em> is in the intersection. Therefore <em>X</em> ∪ (⋂ ) ⊆ ⋂ {<em>X</em> ∪ <em>S</em> | <em>S</em> ∈ }.

For the opposite direction, let <em>x</em> ∈ ⋂ {<em>X</em> ∪ <em>S</em> | <em>S</em> ∈ }. Then <em>x </em>∈ <em>X</em> ∪ <em>S</em> for all <em>S</em> ∈ . So <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em> or <em>x</em> ∈ <em>S</em> for all <em>S</em>. If <em>x</em> ∈ <em>X</em>, we're done. If <em>x</em> ∈ <em>S</em> for all <em>S</em> ∈ , then <em>x</em> ∈ ⋂ , and we're done. So ⋂ {<em>X</em> ∪ <em>S</em> | <em>S</em> ∈ } ⊆ <em>X</em> ∪ (⋂ ).

On average, at least 25,000
Anna [14]

98% of 25,000 is 24,500.

So from this, we can make the inequality:

25,000 - 500x

x = 5 days.

May I have brainliest please? :)

Find the radius of a circle with the given circumference.<br> 6V<br> * in
GREYUIT [131]

Answer:21v/22

Step-by-step explanation:

Circumference of a circle=2×π×radius

6v=2×22/7×r

7×6v=2×22×r

42v=44r

Radius=42v/44

Radius=21v/22

————————

You can actually use either the product rule or the chain rule for this one. Observe:

•  Method I:

y = cos² x

y = cos x · cos x

Differentiate it by applying the product rule:

\mathsf{\dfrac{dy}{dx}=\dfrac{d}{dx}(cos\,x\cdot cos\,x)}\\\\\\&#10;\mathsf{\dfrac{dy}{dx}=\dfrac{d}{dx}(cos\,x)\cdot cos\,x+cos\,x\cdot \dfrac{d}{dx}(cos\,x)}

The derivative of  cos x  is  – sin x. So you have

\mathsf{\dfrac{dy}{dx}=(-sin\,x)\cdot cos\,x+cos\,x\cdot (-sin\,x)}\\\\\\&#10;\mathsf{\dfrac{dy}{dx}=-sin\,x\cdot cos\,x-cos\,x\cdot sin\,x}

\therefore~~\boxed{\begin{array}{c}\mathsf{\dfrac{dy}{dx}=-2\,sin\,x\cdot cos\,x}\end{array}}\qquad\quad\checkmark

—————

•  Method II:

You can also treat  y  as a composite function:

\left\{\!&#10;\begin{array}{l}&#10;\mathsf{y=u^2}\\\\&#10;\mathsf{u=cos\,x}&#10;\end{array}&#10;\right.

and then, differentiate  y  by applying the chain rule:

\mathsf{\dfrac{dy}{dx}=\dfrac{dy}{du}\cdot \dfrac{du}{dx}}\\\\\\&#10;\mathsf{\dfrac{dy}{dx}=\dfrac{d}{du}(u^2)\cdot \dfrac{d}{dx}(cos\,x)}

For that first derivative with respect to  u, just use the power rule, then you have

\mathsf{\dfrac{dy}{dx}=2u^{2-1}\cdot \dfrac{d}{dx}(cos\,x)}\\\\\\&#10;\mathsf{\dfrac{dy}{dx}=2u\cdot (-sin\,x)\qquad\quad (but~~u=cos\,x)}\\\\\\&#10;\mathsf{\dfrac{dy}{dx}=2\,cos\,x\cdot (-sin\,x)}

and then you get the same answer:

\therefore~~\boxed{\begin{array}{c}\mathsf{\dfrac{dy}{dx}=-2\,sin\,x\cdot cos\,x}\end{array}}\qquad\quad\checkmark

I hope this helps. =)

Find the x- and y- intercept of the line. x+4y=36 Answer choices are: A. x-intercept is 4; y-intercept is 1/ B. x-intercept is 1
agasfer [191]
It would be D. x-intercept = 36; y-intercept = 9

if you know that the x-intercept is when the line crosses the x-axis and the same way with the y-intercept, all you would need to do is graph it, (or use desmos.com) and find where the points me the x and y axis.
