Assignment: Energy Flow in Ecosystems Exploration NOTE: Don’t forget to submit a photo or scanned image of your food chain displ

ay/diagram OR the digital file of your food chain diagram along with this assignment worksheet. Compare and contrast producers and consumers in an ecosystem. Producers produce energy from the sun, while consumers eat the producers. producers are usually asexual, while consumers are usually sexual reproducers Decomposers tend to go about their business without being noticed or rewarded for the work they do. Explain the importance of decomposers in ecosystems. Include in your answer the role that mold plays in a forest. Decomposers break down dead plant animals, giving nutrients to living things in the area. If decomposers weren’t around, plants wouldn’t get their nutrients not being able to grow and make food. Also, dead matter and waste would be scattered around, not having any decomposers do the job. So, the environment would be damaged.

Explain why meiosis is required in order for genetics, as scientists and you understand it, to function the way that it does
Aleksandr-060686 [28]
Meiosis actually combines the genetic components from two people and doesn't result in a genetic copy of either parent, and each child receives different genes from each parent. It creates genetic diversity among species instead of every member of a species having identical genes.

When colorblind women married a male with normal vision, all their daughters have normal vision and all their sons are colorblin
worty [1.4K]

Answer:

X-linked recessive

Explanation:

The trait is a sex-linked trait because the daughters are not colorblind, but the sons are. We know this its recessive because the daughters have inherited the mother's X chromosome that has the colourblindness trait, but are not colorblind because the father's X does not have the colourblindness trait. The sons are colourblind because they inherited the X from their mother with the colourblindnese trait and a Y from their father. The colourblindness trait or normal vision trait is not carried on the Y, so the mother's X chromosome's trait is expressed.

Sorry if it's confusing i tried my best to explain it

Large polysaccharides generally have one of two functions: as a very strong structural component of a cell and as a storage mole
Aleks [24]

Answer:

A) Starch, which is synthesized by plants, and glycogen, which is synthesized by animals.

Both compounds are carbohydrate polymers, but are composed of different compounds. Starch is actually a mixture of two slightly different polysaccharides while glycogen is essentially amylopectin. (explanation from USATestprep)
