Did antislavery reformers agree on how much equality to give to african americans?
Wewaii [24]
Did NOT agree--abolitionist thought came in many forms to include free-soilers, gradual emancipation, recolonization, and full emancipation.

Free-soil thinkers did want to end slavery but the expansion of it believing the system could be contained and then killed.

Gradual emancipators wanted to free slaves but do so slowly so each group could be transitioned.

Recolonization thinkers wanted to free slaves but then move them back to Africa. The country of Liberia was set up for this purpose.

Full emancipators wanted slavery to end immediately and for all.

List at least 1 court case related to the Women's Rights/Suffrage
charle [14.2K]

Answer:

Minor v. Happersett (1874)

Explanation:

This court case was presented on appeal by Virginia Minor, a member of the National Woman Suffrage Association, after being denied registration to vote in St. Louis in 1872. She sued Reese Happersett because he was the voting registrar.

The case was not successful at the time, as the Supreme Court ruled that women´s right to vote was not protected by the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which showed the court was not the place to fight for voting rights for women.

The following actions were centered on the review of state voting laws and the ratification of an amendment to the Constitution. It wouldn´t be until 1920 that Minor v. Happersett was overruled by the Nineteenth Amendment that prohibited discrimination in voting rights based on sex.

What was writing in china first used for?
Kay [80]

Answer:

divination

Explanation:

Ancient Chinese writing evolved from the practice of divination during the Shang Dynasty (1600-1046 BCE). Some theories suggest that images and markings on pottery shards found at Ban Po Village are evidence of an early writing system but this claim has been challenged repeatedly.

a. What were the two technological inventions during the Industrial Revolution and how did they affect the tourism and hospitali
erastova [34]

Answer:

Steam engine (two inventions/examples)

Explanation:

The steam engine helped tourism because it allowed people to transport from place to place with greater speed, which opened up opportunities for travel. Increased opportunity, or demand, for travel, means increased opportunity/demand for tourism; small towns will be wondering what could attract more people to their area because a higher population means generating a greater profit for the town. One example of the use of a steam engine is Steamboats. This allowed people to travel over water quickly and in great numbers, helping introduce tourists to different sights or interests along the shoreline.  Additionally, there is the invention of railroads and steam-powered trains. Trains could travel wherever tracks could be built, which opened up opportunities for travel and tourism in several mountain towns, such as Georgetown, CO.
