Papyrus was a weed that grew wildly along the banks of the Nile River. It grew about 10 feet high. It was used to make everything!

The ancient Egyptians used papyrus to make paper, baskets, sandals, mats, rope, blankets, tables, chairs, mattresses, medicine, perfume, food, and clothes. Truly, papyrus was an important "gift of the Nile".

They even tried to make boats out of papyrus, but that did not work very well. Papyrus absorbs water. Boats made of papyrus would become waterlogged and sink.

According to the map, in 1870, which country was more densely populated-the Northeast or the Southeast?
Lady_Fox [76]

Answer:

By looking at the maps of the United State where it is shown the distribution of the population in 1870 it is possible to see that in general both areas, the Northeast and the Southeast, show a significantly higher population density than the population density found in the West and the Midwest.  With areas of population densities of 90 and over inhabitants per square mile in the Northeast and  Southeast,  contrasting with areas of population densities under 2 inhabitants per square mile in the east.

However, since according to the same map described above The mean center of population for the United States was located in southern Ohio, it could be possible to state that in 1870 the Northeast was more densely populated than the Southeast.

katen-ka-za [31]

Answer:

The Roman assemblies were the legislature bodies of the Roman empire. They were the equivalent of the modern assemblies where bills and rules of law are passed.

Explanation:

Romans had a very intricate system of the legislature. The Romans gave a voice to everyone except for the women to voice their opinion. Anyone who was not even Roman descent was allowed to come and share their concerns.

The Roman assemblies acted as a way of direct democracy and people would come and vote for whoever they wanted to appoint.
