Use the passage to answer the question. "We have been driven to the conclusion that only through legislation can any improvement

be effected, and that that legislation can never be effected until we have the same power as men have to bring pressure to bear upon our representatives and upon Governments to give us the necessary legislation. . . . We are here not because we are law-breakers; we are here in our efforts to become law-makers."—Emmeline Pankhurst, October 21, 1908 Which statement best summarizes the main idea of the above quotation? Women should be equal to men in every aspect of their lives. Women are justified in breaking the law if that will help bring them equality. Women must have the right to vote in order to win improvements in their lives. Women cannot reform society unless they run for higher office.

Women must have the right to vote in order to win improvements in their lives.

Not much to say about this question except you need to actually read the passage and then see what option matches the passage. So let's do that.

Women should be equal to men in every aspect of their lives.
* This is not mentioned, although it can be implied. Let's see if there's a better option.

Women are justified in breaking the law if that will help bring them equality.
* The passage doesn't claim that breaking the law is justified. So it's a bad choice.

Women must have the right to vote in order to win improvements in their lives.
* The phrase "... same power as men have to bring pressure to bear upon our representatives ..." is a MAJOR clue. How you get someone in office to pay attention to you? Answer: By voting for someone else. And if women don't have the vote, then they can't bring pressure to bear because the representatives won't care about women because women can't do anything to replace them with someone who does care. So this is the correct choice.

Women cannot reform society unless they run for higher office.
* The passage doesn't speak of running for office, but instead speaks of bringing pressure upon those who are in office. So this is a bad choice.

In what ways did hitler break the treaty of Versailles ? What might you expect the consequences to be ? What were the actual con
MrMuchimi

The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty and put an end to World War I. This treaty is known for being very harsh on Germany, making them take the blame for the war. Germany did not think they should be the only ones being held responsible for World War I. Not only this, but the treaty put heavy restrictions on Germany. They were forced to pay a large sum of money, limit their army, and give back the land they got during the war.

Hitler broke the Treaty of Versailles multiple times. He invaded Rhineland and Austria, along with rebuilding Germany's army, which was against the treaty. Hitler hated the Treaty of Versailles and wanted to abolish it. He did not like how his military was weak because of the treaty.

The consequences could be expected to be maybe paying a large sum of money, or even having a whole war break out. The Treaty of Versailles was a catalyst and laid the roadwork for World War II. Germany was already angered because of the treaty and obviously did not care if they were breaking it.
