Scrooge is the main character of Dickens's novella and is first presented as a miserly , unpleasant man. He rejects all offerings of Christmas cheer and celebration as 'Humbug! '. On Christmas Eve he is visited by the ghost of his old business partner, Jacob Marley, who warns that he will be visited by three ghosts.
The impact it has is that it reminds him of the awful memories that he wants to forget it also reminds of how unhappy he is. He also says it reminds him that it’s a disruption to his money making business
Piteously means pitiful, so it is probably not C, I have not read the story but it doesn't seem like Priam (the father?) would set fire to the town. so i would say D, the death of hector meant the end of troy.
