Some things that I learned about the metro that I did not know before are as follows. There are 16 subway lines that cross 20 districts of Paris. The origin of the metro dates back to the 19th century. The kiosks which are the entrances to the metro station were designed by the architect Hector Guimard. And lastly, that the deepest resorts served as a refuge for Parisians during the bombings of the city between 1943 and 1944. The thing that I think makes the Paris metro so special or different from the London Underground or New York is its history. I think this because neither the London Underground nor New York has this kind of history.
