 Not as much as the large families they had back then. It was normal to have ten or more children and while there was a large migration of people from Europe to the USA, the quick expansion west was only made possible by the high birth rates.

If sediment is transported by water, the grain size of sedimentary deposit can reflect: A. geographic extent of the weathering s
Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

B. distance of the deposit from the source.

Explanation:

The grain size of sedimentary deposit can indicate the distance of the deposit from the source. This is because, when sediment is transported by water, the sediment becomes victim of abrasion. As abrasion occurs, the edges of the grains of deposit are reduced, eventually leading to a rounder shape. However, this process can vary based on the distance of the deposit, the method of transportation and the energy characteristics of the transportation medium.

The Rate of movement of the Pacific Plate will be 37.87cm per year.

Underneath the Pacific Ocean is an oceanic tectonic plate known as the Pacific Plate. It is the largest tectonic plate at 103 million km2. The Farallon, Phoenix, and Izanagi Plate triple junction are where the plate initially formed 190 million years ago.

From the information given, the following can be deduced:

Distance = 500 km = 50000000cm

Time = 1.32 million years = 1320000 years.

Therefore, the rate of plate movement will be (i.e. speed) :

(speed) = Distance / Time

(speed) =  50000000 / 1320000.

(speed) = 37.87 cm/yr
