Y = x² - 4x + 4
y = 2x - 4

Find intersection of L and C:
x² - 4x + 4 = 2x - 4
x² - 6x + 8 = 0
<span> (x - 2)(x - 4) = 0
x = 2 or x = 4

When x = 2 , y = 2(2) - 4 = 0
When x = 4, y = 2(4) - 4 = 4

Points of intersection = A(2, 0) and B(4, 4)

Find the length of AB:

</span>&#10;\text {Length of AB}=  \sqrt{(4-0)^2 + (4-2)^2} =  \sqrt{16 + 4} = \sqrt{20}  = 4.47 \text{ units}
<span>
Answer: 4.47 units

A line contains the points (-4,5) and (3,-9). Write the equation of the line using slope-intercept form..please hurry
kotegsom [21]

Answer:

y= -2x-3

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the slope intercept form we have to first find the gradient of the line.

m=(y₂-y₁)/(x₂-x₁)

y₁=5

y₂=-9

x₁=-4

x₂=3

Therefore, m= (-9-5)/(3--4)

=-2

Therefore if we pick any point on the line, say, (-4,5) we obtain the same slope.

(y-5)/(x--4)=-2

(y-5)/(x+4)=-2

y-5=-2(x+4)

y-5=-2x-8

y= -2x-3

Thus the equation of the line in the slope intercept form is: y= -2x-3

You are given the function C(x)=−4x2+4x+3 Find C(−1). Provide your answer below: C(−1)=
Sedaia [141]

Hey there! :)

Answer:

C(-1) = -5.

Step-by-step explanation:

C(x) = -4x² + 4x + 3

Plug in -1 for x to solve for C(-1):

C(-1) = -4(-1)² + 4(-1) + 3

Simplify:

C(-1) = -4 + (-4) + 3

C(-1) = -5
