How does aneuploidy lead to cancer initiation?

Biology

Answer:

Chromosomal aberrations during cell division represent one of the first recognized features of human cancer cells, and modern detection methods have revealed the pervasiveness of aneuploidy in cancer. The ongoing karyotypic changes brought about by chromosomal instability (CIN) contribute to tumor heterogeneity, drug resistance, and treatment failure. Whole-chromosome and segmental aneuploidies resulting from CIN have been proposed to allow “macroevolutionary” leaps that may contribute to profound phenotypic change. In this review, we will outline evidence indicating that aneuploidy and CIN contribute to cancer evolution.

Scientest distinguish whether an entity is living or non living by describing of life
goblinko [34]
They can distinguish whether the entity is living or non living by checking whether they have all the seven characteristics of living things.
These 7 characteristics include:
Movement
Respiration
Sensitivity
Growth
Reproduction
Excretion
Nutrition.
If the entity does show all these seven characteristics, it should be a living organism.
In the past, scientists by using these 7 characteristics, they sorted living things in 5 kingdoms(plus virus), each with their own other characteristics.

What kind of new therapies are scientists working on to treat cystic fibrosis?
dsp73

Answer:

The correct answer is B make cells produce a functional CFTR protein.

Explanation:

Cystic fibrosis is a disease that is caused due to the mutation in the transmembrane protein known as cystic fibrosis trans membrane conductance regulator or CFTR. Cystic fibrosis trans membrane regulator proteins helps in the formation of thin mucus and due to the mutation in CFTR the mucus becomes thick. The disease cystic fibrosis basically affect the respiratory system.

If gene therapy is used to treat cystic fibrosis then it can replace the mutated CFTR gene with a functional one so that the cell containing CFTR gene can produce functional CFTR protein.

Describe the composition of the cell membrane
goblinko [34]

Explanation:

With few exceptions, cellular membranes — including plasma membranes and internal membranes — are made of glycerophospholipids, molecules composed of glycerol, a phosphate group, and two fatty acid chains. Glycerol is a three-carbon molecule that functions as the backbone of these membrane lipids.
