Here is the real answer

Mr. Underwood simply figured it was a sin to kill cripples, be they standing, sitting, or escaping. He likened Tom's death to the senseless slaughter of songbirds by hunters and children, and Maycomb thought he was trying to write an editorial poetical enough to be reprinted in The Montgomery Advertiser.

ololo11 [35]

Answer:

b. It is illegal for rental security deposits in California to be labeled as "nonrefundable," under any circumstances.

Explanation:

In the state of California, it is illegal to specify rental security deposits as nonrefundable. As a consequence, the landlord should not have kept the lease deposit. In fact, he should have either waited until Caren was able to see the apartment the next evening or given the money back to Jeff.

In at least 250 words, discuss the symbolism of the mockingbird and how it relates to the major storylines in the novel.
Alexus [3.1K]

To Kill a Mockingbird has very little literal connection to the plot, but it carries a great deal of symbolic weight in the book. In this story of innocents destroyed by evil, the “mockingbird” comes to represent the idea of innocence. Thus, to kill a mockingbird is to destroy innocence. Throughout the book, a number of characters (Jem, Tom Robinson, Dill, Boo Radley, Mr. Raymond) can be identified as mockingbirds—innocents who have been injured or destroyed through contact with evil. This connection between the novel’s title and its main theme is made explicit several times in the novel: after Tom Robinson is shot, Mr. Underwood compares his death to “the senseless slaughter of songbirds,” and at the end of the book Scout thinks that hurting Boo Radley would be like “shootin’ a mockingbird.” Most important, Miss Maudie explains to Scout: “Mockingbirds don’t do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.” That Jem and Scout’s last name is Finch ( type of small bird) indicates that they are particularly vulnerable in the racist world of Maycomb, which often treats the fragile innocence of childhood harshly. Also an important symbol of the good that exists within people. btw to kill a mocking bird is a great book

Explanation:

555 Centralia Boulevard

Abbotsville, South Carolina

June 7, 2015

Dear Aunt Mary,

This letter is to thank you for my trip to New York City.—I loved every moment of the trip you so thoughtfully gave me as my graduation present.—Would you like to hear about some of my favorite moments?—

Our plane landed at Kennedy international airport on Friday afternoon and we took a cab to our hotel in times square.—Our concierge helped us get tickets to these wonderful Broadway plays, – The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime,-The King and I,- and on The Town.—Mom and I liked them all

.

( I believe the listed plays should be capitalized.)

On Saturday we took a ferry ride to liberty island and toured the Statue of Liberty.—It was so much bigger than I had ever imagined.—On the ferry we met some other people from South Carolina who were also on graduation trips.—One guy recognized my Clemson tee shirt and asked about it.—He said, "Do you go there?"—I said, "I will start in the fall."—Then he said, "I go there."—After that we exchanged emails and cell phone numbers.—Now I already have a friend on that campus

.

In between the excursion to Liberty Island and the Broadway shows mom and I got some time for shopping at Bloomingdales and Barneys.—I'll look fabulous in my new clothes.—I will send you some photos to show what we bought.—I even picked up some neat things for Charley at Fao Schwarz but I think ill make him wait until his birthday

.

When Monday morning came, Mom and I tried to think of some excuse to stay longer but we headed out to the airport like the responsible people we are.—Guess who was waiting for the flight to South Carolina in the very same gate.—If you guessed the guy I met at the Statue of Liberty, you're right.—He changed his seat assignment and we sat together the whole way home

.

Aunt Mary, the trip was the best graduation present ever and I love you very much.—Next time the trip will be my present to you, just as soon as I graduate and get a very good job.

Love from your favorite niece,

Alexis
