Step-by-step explanation:

To solve the problem -\frac{3}{4} (-8a-12)

we first use the distributive property, which means to multiply everything on the inside with the outside number on the left.

so -\frac{3}{4}  * -8a, -\frac{3}{4} *-12

This would equal

6a+9

its pretty simple.

what may be confusing is the fraciton multiplication

to solve this we convert the -8 and -12 into a fraction. This would be

-\frac{8}{1} and-\frac{12}{1}

and multiplying fractions is easy, u just do it straight across.

so 3 times 8 is 24 so this would be 24/4

and 24/4 simplified is 6

and 3 times 12 is 36

so it would be 36/4

this would equal 9 simplified

and since we are just multiplying all negative numbers here they all turn out to be positive numbers because you should know.  a negative times a negative equals a positive.

If g(x) = 4(x - 2)2 - 4, complete the following statements.
Digiron [165]

Answer:

x = 10

Step-by-step explanation:

Please, use " ^ " to denote exponentiation:    g(x) = 4(x - 2)^2 - 4

The vertex is located at (2, -4) which numbers come directly from the '2' in (x - 2) and the "-4" at the end of the equation.

Where is the function f(x) that you mentioned?

The axis of symmetry here is the vertical line that passes through the vertex.  Its equation is x = 10.

Which equation is a point-slope form of the equation of this line (-2, 1 ) and (1, 7 )
lana [24]

The point-slope formula:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\\\\m=\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

We have (-2, 1) and (1, 7).

Substitute:

m=\dfrac{7-1}{1-(-2)}=\dfrac{6}{3}=2

y-1=2(x-(-2))\\\\y-1=2(x+2)

You are buying 12-packs of Mountain Dew for $\text{4.50}4.50 each and have a gift card worth $77. The function m\left(x\right)=4
poizon [28]

Answer:

$191

Step-by-step explanation:

The function is given by :

m(x) = 4.50x-7 ...(1)

Where

m(x) is the total cost if you buy x 12 packs of Mountain Dew.

We need to find the cost you pay to buy 44 12-packs of Mountain Dew

Put x = 44 in equation (1), we get :

m(x) = 4.50(44)-7

m(x) = 198-7

m(x) = $191

Hene, the cost for 44 12- packs of Mountain Dew is $191.
