The volume of a paint can is 215 in. If the height of the cam is 7.5 in, what is the radius to the nearest whole number?
kati45 [8]

formula for volume = V=PI x r^2 x H so replace letters with known values and work the problem out

215 in.^3 = 3.14 x r^2 x 7.5

215/(7.5x3.14) =  r^2/(7.5 x 3.14)

r^2 = (215/7.5x3.14)

r^2 = 9.1295

Now, taking the square root of both sides, we get:

sqrt(r^2) = r

 sqrt(9.1295) = 3.021

 r = 3 inches

fomenos

Answer:

Advance tickets=$25

Same-day tickets=$15

Step-by-step explanation:

Complete question below:

Suppose that there are two types of tickets to a show: advance and same-day. The combined cost of one advance ticket and one same-day ticket is $ 40. For one performance, 25 advance tickets and 30 same-day tickets were sold. The total amount paid for the tickets was $1075 . What was the price of each kind of ticket?

Let

advance tickets=x

Same-day tickets=y

Combined cost of advance and same-day tickets=$40

It means,

x+y=40 Equ (1)

25 advance tickets and 30 same-day tickets=$1075

It means,

25x+30y=1075 Equ(2)

From (1)

x+y=40

x=40-y

Substitute x=40-y into (2)

25x+30y=1075

25(40-y)+30y=1075

1000-25y+30y=1075

5y=1075-1000

5y=75

Divide both sides by 5

5y/5=75/5

y=15

Recall,

x+y=40

x+15=40

x=40-15

=25

x=25

Advance tickets=$25

Same-day tickets=$15

Check

25x+30y=1075

25(25)+30(15)=1075

625+450=1075

1075=1075

Your making a mosaic design on a square table top. You have already covered half of the table top with 150 1-inch square tile pi
Luden [163]
Since this table top is a square, we would expect it to have the same sides. So if your halfway, we can add another 150 1-inch square tile pieces, which makes it 300 inches (150 + 150 = 300; then multiplied by 1 inch).

(a) The dimension can be described using length and width values. So, its dimension is 300 x 300 inches.

(b) The diagonal from one corner to the opposite corner is calculated using the formula: d= √2a, where a represents the measurement of 1 side. Using the values and formula, the diagonal therefore measures 424.26 inches.

A caterer is preparing a dinner for a party. Shecharges an initial fee of $16 and $8.25 per person. How manypeople can attend a
Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

The nomber of people can attend a dinner that costs $131. 50 is 14.

Step-by-step explanation:

With the information provided, it can be said that the total cost of a dinner would be equal to the initial fee plus the result of multiplying the price per person for the number of people, which can be expressed as:

c=16+8.25x, where:

c is the total cost of he dinner

x is the number of people

Now, you can replace c with 131.50 that is the cost of a dinner and solve for x to find the number of people that can attend:

131.50=16+8.25x

131.50-16=8.25x

115.50=8.25x

x=115.50/8.25

x=14

According to this, the answer is that the nomber of people can attend a dinner that costs $131.50 is 14.
