The three most important problems was that it gave to much power to the states (weak central government), it did not give the federal government the power to tax, and congress couldn't regulate trade.
The answer is they had never experienced European
diseases before. Since they never encountered these kinds of diseases
before, their bodies had no resistance to them.
When they were exposed, the effect was devastating as many perished upon
contracting the diseases.
