However, precisely because I have that knowledge, I would try to break that pattern and put myself in those aliens' "shoes". I would imagine what it felt like to ask for help only to be treated as a threat and be attacked instead.</u>

Two pros:
- To protect their students and themselves during an active shooting
- They wouldn't be defenseless during a shooting
Why shouldn't they? (Cons) - They might use the gun to discipline their students.
- A child could find and use the firearm.
- It's not the teacher's job to be a bodyguard for the students.
- The students may feel unsafe around the teacher.
