Answer:

I think that cringe means that a response to embarrasement. But right now in this text I think this word means that they didn't want that to happen. Or they thought that was not good. Hopefully it's right. I mean that's just my opinion. :D

Which type of sentence is this? Belle is a competitive horseback rider, and she will be competing in the next World Equestrian G
Neko [114]

Answer:

compound-complex

Explanation:

A compound-compex sentence is one that comprises more than one independent clause and one or more dependent clauses. As you may already know, the dependent clauses are those that cannot send a message on their own, as they need a complement to make sense. The independent clauses, however, are the clauses that manage to send messages on their own.

In the question aciam we have an example of compound-compex sentence. That's because "Belle is a competitive horseback rider" is an independent clause, "she will be competing in the next World Equestrian Games" is more of an independent clause, while "which are held every four years" is a dependent clause.

Identify the choice that best describes the sentence.
katrin [286]
The correct answer is C. complex.
A complex sentence contains one independent clause and at least one dependent clause. Here, the independent clause is Galileo, the first astronomer to use a telescope, confirmed the theory and the dependent clause is that the earth and planets circle the sun.
A is incorrect because a simple sentence contains only one independent clause; B is incorrect because a compound sentence contains at least two independent clauses; D is incorrect because a compound-complex sentence contains one independent clause and at least two dependent ones.
