Senator McKee, I am writing to humbly request your presence at our Harper Middle School Honors Brunch, the annual event where we

celebrate our students and, of course, eat some rockin' breakfast sandwiches. I know you're crazy busy, but if you find an hour to spare this Saturday, we'd all be super excited. Which revision best maintains an academic style throughout?

Read the sentence below. Then choose the option that maintains parallel structure. Because she lost the invitation, Crystal was
KiRa [710]

The answer is D) what to wear.

Parallelism is a theme, because she used "where to go, when to leave, and..." instead of "where she would go, when she would leave, and..." then the answer is "what to wear".

Let's put the sentence together, "where to go, when to leave, and what to wear". THAT is a parallel sentence!

Now let's try what most would think the answer is which is, C) "what she should wear"... "Where to go, when to leave, and what she should wear", THIS is a normal sentence since the beginning is not the same as the end of the sentence.

That's why it's called parallelism, the beginning is the same as the end. It Mirrors the beginning.

Now if the sentence was, "where she would go, when she would leave, and..." then C would work.

"Where she would go, when she would leave, and what she should wear."

I hoped I helped! Everyone have a blessed day! <3

How to identify the phrases and clauses
NemiM [27]

Explanation:

A phrase is a group of words that express a concept and is used as a unit within a sentence. Eight common types of phrases are: noun, verb, gerund, infinitive, appositive, participial, prepositional, and absolute

A clause is any noun phrase plus a verb; they can be sentences, but they don't always have to be.

Example: He is sleeping on the bed. The first part of the sentence “He is sleeping” is a clause because it has a subject and a verb. On the other hand, the remaining part of sentence, 'on the bed' is a phrase because it lacks both the subject and the verb.
