The narrator is not part of the story and only states the characters' actions and speech.
They have a right to express what they think and feel but
they have to do so with respect and in a manner that would resolve
conflict. Some people just say things
that though is the truth, it just make a bad situation worse. You have to
choose your words carefully or people will take the wrong way.
Say when you had a hard time dealing with the fact that someone has past away or you're failing a class and you try to raise your grade but you just can't get it high enough if those
