Griselda was married to Gualtieri and her patience and obiedience were severely tested when her children were taken away from her to be killed. Gualtieri did not kill them however, but kept them in another town. Helots were state-owned slaves. There were very much in practice in the ancient Spartans. They were specified to work in a piece of land. They also forced to work in fields as they were serf.
