teaching them to speak English.

The reformers who wanted to help immigrants assimilate and succeed in American culture knew that learning English was key to their success in American economy and way of life. Americanization efforts also included instruction in US history and the way democracy works in the United States.

They were helping people learn a new language because it would help them and give them better opertunties to get work and understand people around them. How did the foreign-born population become a major factor in american political life between 1820 and 1850? Who considered this
natita [175]
In the United States immigrant communities became a larger political influence in the early 19th century because of their dramatically increasing numbers. There were a large number of Irish and German immigrants coming to the US at this time due to famine in Ireland and political persecution in Germany. In response to the large influx of immigrants and their potential to influence the political system different groups of Americans took on anti-immigrant or "nativist" views, being strongly against the influx of immigrants and feared that these new immigrants would take their jobs. In response the Know-Nothing Party was formed to opposed this increased immigration politically.

How did Thomas Jefferson hope the Declaration of Independence would affect the rest of the world?
Alex777 [14]

Answer:

Hope this Helps i love Thomas Jefferson he is pretty cool not gonna lie

Explanation:

How the Declaration Came About

Map of the British Colonies in North America in 1763Map of the British Colonies in North America in 1763

America's declaration of independence from the British Empire was the nation's founding moment.  But it was not inevitable.  Until the spring of 1776, most colonists believed that the British Empire offered its citizens freedom and provided them protection and opportunity.  The mother country purchased colonists' goods, defended them from Native American Indian and European aggressors, and extended British rights and liberty to colonists.  In return, colonists traded primarily with Britain, obeyed British laws and customs, and pledged their loyalty to the British crown.  For most of the eighteenth century, the relationship between Britain and her American colonies was mutually beneficial.  Even as late as June 1775, Thomas Jefferson said that he would "rather be in dependence on Great Britain, properly limited, than on any nation upon earth, or than on no nation."
