The HYPOTHALAMUS is a part of the forebrain which is the main co-ordinating and control center for the autonomic nervous system. It plays an important role in homeostasis. It

--> regulates body temperature and the body's urges such as thirst and hunger by impulses it sends along the autonomic nervous system; and

--> controls endocrine secretions by monitoring the metabolites and hormone levels in blood.

The THYROID GLAND is an endocrine gland located in front of the larynx and trachea. This gland is known to produce a hormone called calcitonin from its parafollicular cells. The calcitonin is secreted when there is high level of calcium in the blood, opposing the effects . Therefore it helps in the regulation of calcium levels in the blood. A disorder of the Thyroid gland can lead to absence of this hormone, calcitonin, thereby leading to high levels of calcium in the blood.

THEREFORE, the correct glands are HYPOTHALAMUS and THYROID GLAND.

PINEAL GLAND is NOT correct because it a gland located at the brain, which involves the secretion of the hormone melatonin which is associated with development of sec organs.

ADRENAL GLAND is NOT correct because the secretions from this gland helps in regulation of metabolism of the body.
